CURRENTLY

I am currently working for Harris Corporation - Microwave Communications Division. I am the division webmaster and graphic consultant. Some of my major accomplishments in the past 5 years have been:

The complete redesign of the division's Intranet and public website

The challenge

• The sites were previously under the control of our Corporate office, this meant that all modifications were put in a priority pool.
• Modifications to the sites could take up to several months.
• This was not acceptable and resulted in users loosing faith in the integrity of the sites.

My solution

• I worked closely with our Corporate office and gained their trust and confidence, they gave me 100% control of the sites.
• I redesigned the entire Intranet and public website, from the graphical user interface to the site architecture.
• Updates are now daily and all changes are tracked via the use of Visual SourceSafe.

The redesign of the graphical user interface of an in-house software application

The challenge

• The software development team approached me to redesign the graphical user interface of an in-house software application.
• The goal was to udpate the look and to work on increasing the ease of usability of the GUI.

My solution

• I reworked the layout to be more intuitive. I presented several ideas to the software team who implemented one of the ideas.
• The feedback from both internal and external customers is that the interface is "classy" and easy to use.

The optimization of resource sharing

The challenge

• The company is in the process of releasing a new product. The technical publication, product management, and marketing teams, all have a need for product photography and illustrations.
• Centralizing the information and resources is the solution.

My solution

• The various requirements for product photography were evaluated.
• I worked with the technical publication and engineering teams to optimize pro-eng illustrations and make them available in our Intranet in a dedicated "image library" for the new product.
• As new configurations of the product are released, I am responsible for the photography of this equipment. Once available, the optimzed photos are uploaded to the image library. All teams are notified accordingly.
